One winter I spent some time with my friends on Isla du Mujeras, just off the coast of Cancun, Mexico. We were smack dab in the middle of Mexicano suburbia, with all the locals. We quickly got to know the laundry lady, the early morning joggers, the taco man and of course all the local dogs.

This cactus was on the landings to our apartment. The scene was very typical with the bright wall colors, cactus and Mexican blanket in the window. We had a great time on the island and I will return someday. The landlord, Jorge, even told us that we were good tenants “You didn’t break anything.” I guess we’ll be welcomed back.
